The Calamondin orange tree, also known as the miniature orange, is a stunning and fragrant ornamental tree that produces small tangerine-like fruit with a tart, acidic flavor similar to lemon or lime. This hardy citrus tree is capable of withstanding temperatures as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit and is a great addition to your garden if you live in USDA planting zone 9b or higher. Growing calamondin trees is a breeze, and they can reach heights of 10-20 feet, though they're usually much shorter. The branches of growing calamondin trees are adorned with small spines and produce fabulous orange-scented blossoms that become small, seedless, and segmented fruit. The fruit is extremely acidic and persists through winter, making it perfect for use in drinks or marmalades. Calamondin trees are shade-tolerant and can be grown in full sun, making them extremely versatile. They are also drought-tolerant, although it's best to deeply water them during extended dry periods to avoid stressing the plant. If you live in USDA zone 8b or colder, this is one of the few citrus trees that you can grow outside. The flowers require no cross-pollination and will produce fruit at two years of age, continuing to bear almost all year round. The trees can be forced into blooming by withholding water until the foliage wilts and then watering thoroughly. When caring for calamondin trees, it's important to remember that they thrive in temperatures between 70-90 degrees F and any temperature less than 55 degrees F will adversely affect their growth. Avoid overwatering and allow the soil to dry to the depth of 1 inch before watering. Fertilize during the winter using one half-strength, water-soluble fertilizer every five weeks or so.

    Testimonials

    "Came in perfect condition--thank you!"

    Natalie

"Amazing Plants! I was so happy to see these way larger than the plants pictured because I know how slow most cycads grow."

    Matthew

"This is the first time I've ever ordered plants online, so I had no idea what to expect. When I saw the description of 'comes in a 4" growers' pot' I figured I'd be getting some fairly small plants--nope! The bamboo palms were fully 2' tall from root to top leaf, and perfectly healthy. All 5 plants were VERY well secured in their box, to the point that the bottom layer was even spray-foamed to the cardboard! I couldn't ask for a better experience and I'm so excited to see these plants grow. Five stars!"

    Nathaniel

"Thrilled with my purchase! This seller went above any beyond! The packaging was very careful, the plants are so much bigger than I expected, and I was given more than what was depicted in the item description. 10/10 all round!"

    Trisha

"This is SO BEAUTIFUL! Packaging was perfect and efficient, plant was in excellent condition. I'm in love with this plant and I will definitely order more."
