Its balanced pH and natural amendments, such as coarse peat and perlite create the ideal environment for healthy roots while mimicking the plant's native habitat, ensuring quick water flow to prevent overwatering.
- Ideal Light Conditions: The Syngonium Black Velvet thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate low light, the plant’s dark foliage requires sufficient light to maintain its striking appearance. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight, as this may cause the leaves to scorch.
- Watering Requirements: Water the plant when the top 1–2 inches of soil feels dry. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure that the pot has good drainage. During the growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, while in the fall and winter, reduce watering to allow the plant to rest.
- Physical Characteristics: The Syngonium Black Velvet is characterized by its velvety dark green to nearly black leaves, accented by striking silver veins. The arrowhead-shaped foliage is glossy and leathery, adding texture and visual interest to any room.
