Its balanced pH and natural amendments, such as coarse peat and perlite create the ideal environment for healthy roots while mimicking the plant's native habitat, ensuring quick water flow to prevent overwatering.
- Light Requirements: Prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate low-light conditions. However, the vibrant yellow coloring will be most pronounced with adequate light exposure. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves.
- Watering Frequency: Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry to the touch. During the growing season (spring and summer), this typically means watering once a week. In the cooler months, reduce watering frequency. Ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent overwatering.
- Growth Rate & Size: This fast-growing plant can quickly spread up to 6 feet or more in length, making it perfect for creating cascading arrangements or adding height to your indoor space. It may need pruning to maintain a desired size or shape over time.
- Temperature Tolerance: Prefers warm indoor environments, thriving in temperatures between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). It does not tolerate cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C), so keep it away from chilly windows or air conditioning vents.
